Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Sounds like Santa Clara got a good taste of Canada! That is awesome! So, this week was pretty exciting. Over in Lethbridge it got down to as cold as -49 celcius with the wind chill. Crazy right? In Coaldale it wasn't that bad, but the wind chill did get us down to -40 I think! But I am alive and still have most of my fingers and toes!
So, haircuts this week. Just got a haircut from a local salon and it turned out to be a great missionary experience. She had tons of questions!! It was great! We ended up sharing Joseph Smith's experiences and talked about some of her questions-Temples, polygamy, missionary work, etc. And we got her number so hopefully we can meet again with her!
Unfortunately we haven't found anyone to teach yet, but we are working! I read about Alma and the sons of Mosiah this week in my scripture studies, and how they converted the Lamanites. They talk about how no one thought that the Lamanites would be converted, but they ended up converting thousands through faith, diligence, and relying on God. So that was good to hear! Just have to keep moving forward!
We got quite a bit of snow here. I'll send some pictures and tell you the stories with them :)
The Church is true!

We got a Christmas tree from some members in our ward!! Booyaaa!!

My companion, Elder Haskell
 Hehe, isn't this awesome??

This is our staircase down to the basement. Haha! There was this huge snowdrift by our house. It was about 3 feet high!! Elder Haskell and I both jumped into it. It was so awesome!! I got a video of it too, but its too big to send in an email. Woops. But just picture Elder Haskell and I both trying to be superman and falling into a giant pile of snow. It was fantastic.

{this was so sweet - a last minute (second!) message from our missionary}

Dear family,
running on 30 seconds right now. Just wanted to let you know that I love you guys! I hope you enjoy the Christmas season! Remember Him! I love you!

And last but not least, the questions he answered for me! Yay! Love you Elder Call!!

Thanks for the pictures mom! I loved them! I love the stories you shared-the small things make a difference!
So, questions:

1. Have you received your Christmas package yet? If not, when's the next time you are to receive mail? (remember if you have rec'd it you CAN open it now and get out the UN wrapped stuff for now! save wrapped stuff for Christmas!!!)
We are having a Christmas party with a couple zones today. We will be getting our Christmas packages there! Thanks mom and family!

2. Do you know if you will be calling or skyping on Christmas? If so, from where?
Probably skyping. Still in the process of getting that figured out. Send me your skype info sometime please :)

3. Do you have plans for Christmas? Christmas Eve?
We are having Christmas dinner with a non-member family from the food bank. We go and do service there and they invited us over for dinner. Woo! And we are spending Christmas Eve with the people we are living with, so that should be fun!

4. What do you do all day long and evening when it is SO COLD OUTSIDE??? What does a typical cold, winter day in Canada for a missionary look like?
Well we have a car which makes things easier. We try to set up as many appointments as we can, and then just stop by people's houses if we can't. It all works out, and we stay warm :)

5. How is Elder Haskell holding up being companions with the happiest, funnest, spiritualist, amazingist guy ever?? ;)
Ha, its been fun! We've been having a good time and working hard!

6. Best spiritual moment of the week was??
Haircuts :) I'll explain in the big kahuna :)

7. How is it going being District Leader?
Ahh! Its crazy. But its fun! I'm learning a lot and its coming along. Its been really good though!

8. Do you have thick winter gloves?? Winter boots?? If not - go buy some!!!!! You have $$ in your account to do so!!! It's going to be a loooonnnnnng winter there!!!
Haha, I'm doing fine mom! Thank you!!
Keep being great mom! Keep working at the missionary experiences. Heavenly Father notices every small act that we do! He is so willing to bless us with opportunities, so keep it up! You are great mom! I love you so much and can't wait to talk to you and the fam here pretty quick! Have a great week. I love you!

Love,
Elder Call
