Cardston, Canada
ZL with Elder Zachary Madsen (who goes home next transfer!)
This week was good! I can't remember if I said this last week, but our mission has the goal to talk with one million people this month. That includes sharing the gospel and inviting them/asking for referrals.
Anywho, it was awesome! We had four pancake breakfasts this week as part of Cardston's Heritage Week. Super crazy. We went to all four of them and talked with people. I'm sick of pancakes and sausages. And orange juice. At the last breakfast someone asked if I was sick of pancakes yet and I said at this point I was just eating them to talk with people. Ha, so true. But we were able to meet lots of new people. It was a sweet opportunity.
This week we talked to 658 people, which was so fun! We met so many different people. A few abnormals and crazies. Makes missionary work exciting haha.
We worked out on the reserve quite a bit this week. We talked with a lot of natives. You definitely see some interesting things out there. And get offered some interesting things. Anywho...
We have a lot of work to do this upcoming week! We were able to get a lot of referrals from talking with people, so we'll contact those this week.
Our mission is focusing a lot on the Book of Mormon too this month. So we are trying to give out as many as we can. That has been really fun. Most of the time I just load up my scripture case with Book of Mormons and give them out. I love it! I even bought a mini Book of Mormon that fits in my front pocket. Its convenient.
There are lots of people here that are accepting of the Book of Mormon. Especially the natives. Hopefully they will act on that which they read!
Sorry I'm a little rushed this week, I'll definitely have some stories to tell next week!
The Church is true!
Love,
Elder Call
Dear Mom,
I can't believe how fast time goes. It is crazy that Grace is a high-schooler now. Weird. Can't believe Erin is a Senior. Zac is in 5th grade. Last year in Elementary School. Crazy. Alexa is married and has a kid. You are a grandma. I'm on a mission. Whoa. Time flies by quick. Happy to hear that everyone is doing so well. Glad to hear that Grace made the soccer team! She will do a great job. What did Erin put on her Senior parking spot?? And that is pretty neat that Zac is in the same classroom as I was in fifth grade. Awesome!! Glad that Dad is liking working from home. That sounds like it is good for him. Happy to hear that you are able to spend more time together, and that you are able to make it to the Temple. And tell Jean and her new dog Riley hi for me!! And that is nuts that Victoria gets home in two weeks. Weird!!
Glad that you enjoyed teaching young women's. That is a good subject. They are definitely going to need to know how to build a happy home!
How is Walkie Talkie August going?
Fantastic! We had four pancake breakfasts in Cardston this week for heritage week and we were able to talk with a lot of people. As a Zone we talked with nearly 3000 people, which is awesome. Our Zone is great. They are leading the mission in people talked to as of now, which is awesome!
Best thing that happened with Elder Madsen this week?
We both had a super fun time talking with people on the street. We would both go and talk with different people, so that made it interesting as well. It was fun!
How did your talk in sacrament go? What was your topic?
My topic was Elder Nelson's talk Let Your Faith Show. It was fun to talk on and it went pretty well I think!

How are your investigators doing?
All the people we are working with right now are natives. It is hard to stay in contact with them and keep appointments, so we are trying to work around that! But they are doing well.
How are Y O U doing?
Doing good!!
Latest investigator update?
Had to push the baptismal dates back because we haven't been able to meet with R and S. Hopefully we can meet with them this week. Thanks for praying for me and for them! I appreciate that!
Hope the kiddos had a great first day of school! Thanks for everything mom! I love you!

Elder Call
p.s. I found something that I want for my birthday, if you haven't already sent a package. As missionaries we trade ties with companions and sign our names on the back. I was wondering if you could all get a tie and all sign the back of it. I think that would be pretty sweet. But, that's all I can think of! I love you!
One of three bears they saw, but he couldn't get his camera out quick enough to get all 3!
Pday in Waterton. He's looking handsome and happy. Hope to go there someday!
Letting a chipmunk eat off his shirt. (not sure that's so sanitary!)
