On Wednesday June 6th we were soooo blessed to hear from Elder Call via email (I'll tell you about that one next!!) after having arrived safely in Canada! We also received 2 letters in the mail!! Talk about spoiled!! It felt just like Christmas!!! :)
The #1 Best Family Ever
It was neat to see all of the amazing things they did at the MTC. They were so busy!!
I think that helps them not to be homesick - they don't have time!!
This is the back (2 different pictures) of the second envelope. Sure love that kid!
And here is the heartfelt letter that he wrote home to us. What a tender hearted, sweet boy!
We love you Elder Spencer Matthew Call!!
{my favorite part? the entire thing!! and the personal touches he gave to each person!! {yes I had tears!} Also when he described Alexa coming out of the temple being an angel "I realized I was looking at one" Melts this mamas heart}
We are so thankful for you Spencer! You are going to be such a blessing to the people of Canada.
We love you. We miss you. We support you 110%.

He also sent an email. He arrived in Canada on Tuesday and he and the other newly arriving missionaries spent the night at the mission home with President and Sister Nicholas. The next day he met his new companion, where he would be living and what part of Canada he would be serving in. This is the email that he sent to Jeremy :) He forwarded it to all of us. Ok, I actually forwarded it to all of us. Haha!
{dear family}
Thanks so much for your email! To you and all of the family, you are the best! My flight was good. I am here, alive, and well in Canada. My companions name is Elder Lloyd and he is great! He's been out for 4 and a half months so we are both pretty new. I'm pretty excited to be here, but I'm really nervous. We are going out tracting {knocking on doors - hoping to help, serve, teach people} later today for my first time, so we'll see how it goes!! We are living in a member's basement right now, which is pretty cool! The mission is so much different from the MTC. Its weird being out in the real world again. So when we slept over at the Presidents house I totally forgot pajamas. Yea. I had to sleep in my church shirt and suit pants. HA! I knew I would forget something, but thats ok! We went shopping today for food. Elder Lloyd took me down the "missionary aisle" which is filled with microwavable foods. Got me some corn dogs and taquitos! Also I got some cereal :) Oh and some spaghetti! So hopefully I can make it through the week!
Our Pday is Monday, but apparently new arrivals get to use the computers at the library. So I now have a library card for Calgary! Oh, snap! I should probably tell you where I'm serving right? I'm serving in the Calgary North mission. Slow place. Not many investigators. But were praying for that to change. I'm hoping for the best! Elder Lloyd says the hardest part is finding people to teach. So hopefully we can get out and get some more investigators today! I'm pretty excited, but like I said, nervous. Its hard work out here, but its gonna be fun.
Dad, I hope your computer stays alive. {it has been getting a little old...} And I'm glad you got to go to the Temple! Tell Tyler congrats for me! Mom, happy birthday in a couple of days! :) Erin, stay at home kiddo! Haha, and I guess good luck with the whole job thing. Grace, keep it up on the sports!! And Zac-man, have fun playing ball. You're it!! {these two boys are ALWAYS playing a forever game of tag...hence the "you're it" from Spenc!}
I love you all so much! The church is true!!
Love,
Elder Call
{this is the email I got! sure love that kid!!}
Thanks so much mom! {in reference to the email I sent him} I love you so much! Please refer to dad's email for more info :)
Love,
Elder Call
p.s. President Nicholas says to have everything mailed straight to the mission home. They'll distribute it from there! Love you! Tell everyone hi for me! Oh and thanks for the letters that were waiting for me when I got here. I love my family!!
{****If anyone sees the missionaries in their neck of the woods, say hi, take them to lunch or
take their picture and get their mom's cell phone number and send her the photo right then and there!
take their picture and get their mom's cell phone number and send her the photo right then and there!
Promise, it will be a gift she will always treasure!!! We love missionaries!!!*****}
