New trainer this week!!

We didn't hear from Elder Call on Monday....unlike all of my other missionary mom friends!! Jeremy said he's come to expect it - a letter sometime, but not necessarily Monday. Me on the other hand? I want that letter! It was a great day to get one on Tuesday (see below).
And then this morning (Wednesday) I had the thought to send him an email. Funny thing, because he doesn't get his email until Mondays. Or Tuesdays. But then it came to me that he was getting his new missionary companion today, and most likely they would go to the library so this brand new missionary could email his mom and let her know he had arrived in Canada safely. Bingo! Good to listen to that still, small voice. I sent him an email, expressing our confidence in him being a new trainer and he was able to email back. Double letters in one week made up for the lack of email on Monday!

Tuesdays Letter:

Dear world,
What a crazy week. I love being a missionary! All I can say is that it is a pretty incredible experience. And I've only been out for three months!! Missionary work is great. {I love that he is so happy and that he is loving his mission!}
So I guess I'll start off by answering some questions from my mom:

1. Would it be easier for you if I {mom} emailed a shorter / not as long as usual email, so you have more time to write? I can hand write longer letters and mail them to you so you can re-read them. I just don't want you to feel like you are taking up too much time reading a looooong letter! Tell me what's best for you!!! :)
I love getting emails. I get two hours to write emails, so that is more than enough to read long ones! So to all those who have written me emails or letters, thanks! And mom, don't even worry. I love getting your emails! (To any future missionaries, you'll learn to love emails from mom. Just sayin'!)

2. Will you be the one to be the car driver on Wednesday as the new trainer??? {if so watch out for those Canadian police driving mini-vans!! - see last weeks letter!}
Ha, yea, but I think that my Chevy Cruze could outrun a minivan. Not that I'm planning on doing that, haha!
{anyone who has driven behind Spenc throughout his driving years knows he is a S L O W driver!! He shouldn't have any trouble with the lower speed limit in Canda}

3. What was the most exciting thing that happened this week?
One of our investigators said she had her answer. I was so nervous! She said that her answer was that she needed to start coming to church and investigating the church more vigorously. Which is great to hear! So hopefully we can get her out to church next week.

4. What do you typically eat for breakfast? Lunch?
For breakfast I always have cereal. {pretty much just like home!!}  Haha! And lunch is switch off between egg sandwiches, hot dogs, pb&j, microwavable food, salads, and sometimes we eat out at fast food. {the members of the church feed the missionaries dinner pretty much every night! Thanks Candian friends for taking care of my boy!}

5. Is there any food that you have missed having?
I miss mom's cooking! The cooking here by members is great, but there is just something about your own mother's cooking that is just amazing!  {awww, so sweet!!}

6. What's the coolest thing about Elder Lloyd??
The coolest thing... ...I like how he makes me do stuff. That has helped me prepare to be a trainer. So that is one thing that is really cool about Elder Lloyd!

Well, pretty much this week was great! I am really excited and very nervous about getting a new companion! I'll find out who my new companion is tonight, which is just so crazy to me. It feels like just last week I was flying on the plane to Calgary. That is just so crazy to me!!

The church is true. Missionary work is so fun. Hard, but fun! I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store. The work here in Calgary is great. I love all of you!!

Love,
Elder Call

p.s. Oh my goodness! I almost forgot to say that we had three inactives show up to church this week! It was so great! They hadn't been to church for about a year now, but they came!! It was so great. Totally made my week!

{And the following is in response to the little letter I wrote to him Wednesday morning about being a trainer, starting today!!}

Thanks mom! I love you! I have my new companion. His name is Elder S. He is from Arizona. He plays basketball too, which is way sweet. So Pdays will be way fun. I'm super excited and I'm also very nervous. So we'll see how this week goes! I hope you are all having a great week. Hope the family enjoys school and work and all of that fun stuff! I love you all so much! Thanks for all of your great examples and for being a great family, and even further, for being my friend. I love you! Hope you all have a fantastic week!
Love,
Elder Call

{Seriously just love this kid!! So blessed to be his mother}
