What movie? I've decided to start putting the subject line to good use...
Anywho, this week has been pretty good! So, remember how I told you to send some of that nice St. George red sand because one of the less actives here collects sand? Well, it worked! I brought over the sand, and we got in his house! It actually went really well. He's a convert, so we got to hear his conversion story, which was great. We promised him the same good feelings that he had at his baptism if he would come back to church. We are definitely going to keep working with him.
Oh man, also he had us try some of his hot sauce. What a terrible idea!! Me and Elder Smith were both riding home with our mouths wide open, letting the cold air run through! It was so hot!!
Speaking of biking, I got another flat this week. I think this is my third flat tire, haha! But we went over to SuperStore to pump it up and my tire exploded... Let me explain! So I was filling it up, and the tube must have been on wrong, because the tube came off the rim and then BOOM! It exploded. Elder Smith's and my ears both starting ringing. It was so loud! And there was people watching us, so it was pretty embarassing, haha!
Well, here's the spiritual experience for the week. We were riding our bikes to do some stop-bys when we passed this man walking his dog. I felt like we should go back and talk with him. My first thought was "nah, that would be so awkward!" But the feeling came again so I called out to Elder Smith and we turned around. We started talking with this guy, and he said that he knew what we were up to, that we were Mormons. Which actually led into a great conversation! We talked about our beliefs, and invited him out to church! He said he would come one of these weeks, so hopefully we will see him soon!
Missionary work is pretty much fantastic. Work + Training + The Spirit + Obedience + Teaching + Riding Bikes = One great life Its definitely hard. Headaches, sore legs, and being tired are definitely part of the ride, but I've said it once and I'll say it again, its worth it! We've got so many opportunities to do the Lord's work. So, challenge for the week, go to church... and invite someone along with you! You'll see great blessings as you strive to help the Lord in "bring[ing] to pass the immortality and eternal life of man". I can definitely promise that!!
The Church is true! It all comes back to the scriptures, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, which is surely the word of God. I know it is true. I know that God loves us and is watching over us. I know as we do the simple things, like praying, going to church, and reading the scriptures that we will find great happiness in our lives.
I love you all!!
Love,
Elder Call
