Snow in Canada, eh? It's going to be a looonnnng winter!

If you remember from last week, they gained bikes (as their car went to another area)!
And I'm assuming this awesome "tandom bike" set up is from his
popped bike tire - also a story from last weeks letter! So inventive!!

This is one of my most favorite pictures! I can hear Elder Call right now...
"I know the scriptures are true!!!"

The church had a neighborhood "trunk or treat" (come trick or treating at the church parking lot and
everyone gives out candy from their car trunks). Elder Call dressed up as his companion Edler Smith
(they switched name tags!!). They aligned their bikes so their "trunks" were facing out :)
and handed out candy (is that canadian chocolate they are giving out???!!!)

The first snowfall of the season....I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter!!
 "Well, its great to hear that all is well in St. George! Enjoy the nice weather! It is already like the dead of winter in Santa Clara here in Calgary right now, haha! Makes for an exciting adventure! This week has been really fun! I'll let you know some of the details here in the Big Kahuna, but for now, I just want you to know that I am doing great! We are having a grand ol' time here in the Panorama Ward. Its been really fun, exciting, and incredible! I absolutely love it here! I kinda hope I don't get transferred next transfer, haha! "

Elder Smith doing push ups, because he lost the bet of when the first snowfall would happen!
I asked: Anything in particular you want/need in your Christmas box??
He replied: Hm... pictures? Sunshine? Ha, I really don't care. Just something from my family :)
{I'm trying to figure out how to package up some sunshine and send it his way!!}

Calgary Canada

Ok, this week was absolutely amazing. I wish I could describe how great the Lord's work is, but I know that my emails won't do it justice! The Lord's work is absolutely amazing.

So, we had some amazing miracles this week...

One day we while we were planning we felt that we should go leaf tracting. Pretty much we went around looking for people that we could do service for and rake their leaves. There was one particular house that had a lot of leaves in the yard. We went and knocked on the door, and before we could say, "We are missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" he let us in. That in itself is a miracle, because hardly anyone lets us in, haha! But this guy, Bong, was from the Phillipines, and he and his buddies moved to Canada for work. He brought both of them up, Alvin and Donnie, and we taught them all the first lesson. We gave them all Book of Mormons, and they said they would read and pray. It was amazing!!

We also met with this lady named Maryam. She had come to church a couple times, and our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Kirkpatrick, caught her and got her info. She was from the Middle East, and pretty much one of the first thing that she said when we met was that she didn't want to change religions. But, as the lesson when on the Spirit testified to her of the truth, especially about Jesus Christ, whom she had never heard much about before. In her words she said, "I don't know why, but whenever you talk about Jesus, I feel really good inside." It was absolutely amazing. We invited her to be baptized, and she said that she would talk to her husband about it. Whoa!! Talk about a change of heart! It was absolutely incredible to see what the Spirit can do.

This week Elder Smith and I also fasted on Sunday for investigators to come to church. The Lord had something different in mind. Some random lady that lived down the street said she felt like she needed to come, and we were able to teach her! Also after church we saw some Chinese ladies walk in, and we got their contact information too! Its amazing what the Lord can do!!

This work is so great! The Lord blesses us as we strive to do His work. There are people out there who are ready to hear about the gospel!! Sometimes they find us, but often times it is our responsibility to find them. So pray for opportunities to share the gospel, and they will come!!

The Church is true!!

Love,
Elder Call

{He added a post script to this letter that read "for family only": It was one of the most spiritual things I have ever read. It was a personal experience he had to a particularly rough day. Do you remember in the Book of Mormon where the people wrote that their experience of the Savior visiting them and the prayer He had offered was too sacred to write about? Same thing here. He had such an incredible, sacred, spiritual experience. I love that sweet missionary of ours with all my heart. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who offers so many tender mercies and reminders that we are never alone. I couldn't get through his sweet experience without tears running down my face. I know our Savior lives and loves us. I know that our Heavenly Father is ever mindful of our needs. I know that the Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead that witnesses truths to us through the still small voice and the sweet feelings we receive as we hear and witness truths. How blessed the Gospel of Jesus Christ is in my life and in our sweet missionary's life! Elder Call did write at the end: "Your examples still are branded in my mind. I love you all so much!!" And likewise here....your example Elder Call is forever branded in our minds. WE LOVE YOU!!! }
