Dear family and friends,
Welcome to Coaldale!
So, I'm going to start off answering some of my mom's questions...
Where are you??? Which town are you serving in??
I am serving in the Coaldale Ward. It is a pretty sweet ward!! It is part of the Lethbridge East Zone.
Who is your companion?? Details please!! Where is he from? How long has he been out? What is his personality like?
My companion is Elder Haskell. He is from Lehi, Utah. He has been out for 3 months, so he has just finished his training. He is pretty much a replica of Tanner Sampson :) , but he doesn't like basketball. Oh well, I'll cope.
I know you've only been with your new comp for 5 days, but how's it going??
Its going good! We do a lot of less active work. We don't have any investigators right now, so we are working really hard to find people. So, pray for missionary opportunities! Missionaries love it when members are involved and share the gospel. And Heavenly Father loves it even more than we do! So catch the wave!! :)
Where do you email from? Library? Church?
We email from the Family History Center. So, it all works out!
Where do you live? Members basement, apartment, etc??
We email from the Family History Center. So, it all works out!
Where do you live? Members basement, apartment, etc??
We live in a members basement. Its the Stocktons basement I believe! And they let us use their laundry machines, which is awesome!!
Are you over one ward? Or several? Who's the Bishop?
We are just over one ward, which is nice! Our Bishops name is Bishop Gugyelka (Guh-Jel-Ka). He is a really sweet guy!
What are you duties as District Leader?
I go on exchanges with the Elders in my district. I get numbers at the end of every week. I am in charge of running our District Training Meetings. And I am to watch over the district and help them anyway possible!! :)
How did you get to the town you're at now / how did you transfer south? Car? Bus? Turtle? Camel? Llama? haha
There were a couple 12 seater vans and I think the APs are driving around a minivan too, which is funny! No llamas, unfortunately.
Do you have bikes? Car?
We have a car!! Hallelujah!! {I loved that! Since he just came from a biking area!}
Have you used your new jacket yet? If so, how's it working?? Are you staying warm?
This week was niiiice. It didn't get below 0 I think (thats in celcius). {He has yet to respond about his jacket......}
So, here we go! New area, new people, new companion, new responsibilities! But, I am pumped! I have a sweet district. One of the sisters in my district (Sister Barton) actually went to Snow Canyon! Woo! And another sister (Sister Harris) was in my MTC district. So, it should be a fun time!
Oh, here's a question for all of yall: So we are trying to come up with as many finding activities as possible. So what kind of ward activities would be really fun? What would you invite your non-member friends too? We will take anything and everything!
Well Coaldale, ready or not, here I come!
Love,
Elder Call
{I sure loved his excitement! He sounds like he is doing great and ready for new things!}
Mom,
Sweet! Thanks for the package! I will definitely rip off the label. {customs label with everything in the box listed on it!!} Glad my package came. Surprised it got there so quickly!! {no worries, we have it saved for Christmas!} Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you have a fun time. Enjoy dinner, the Wrigleys, potato peel wars, and all that fun stuff! Sounds like an adventure! Thanks for the advice. Being a district leader has been fun thus far! I have my first district meeting on Wednesday, so that will be fun! Oh, we get mail every two weeks. I'm serving in Lethbridge East now, in the Coaldale ward, so its a ways away from the Mission Home. {probably a 3 hour drive} I hope you have been enjoying the rain! Its been nice down here. A chinook came by and melted all the snow!! Hooray!! I have been having a really good time here in Coaldale. There are lots of really nice people! So, don't worry about me! I love you so much mom! You are fantastic!!
Love,
Elder Call
PS My camera battery is dead, so I will send more photos next week!
My last zone, the Calgary North Zone! From the very back we have Elders Hill, Sumption, Smith (my boy), Lyon, and Sisters Cooley and Hendricks, and then me and Elder Burrows. Next row we have Elders Pacheco, Bell, Lloyd and Jensen (they weren't in our zone) and Elder Olsen, with Elder Reese laying across them. And we have Elders Engstrom and Hill in the front.
Oh and the Sister Training Leaders, Sister Boggart and I cant remember the other sisters name, are missing...
