Flying South for the Winter

Dear Mom,
So, turns out that I am flying south for the winter, haha! I think I'm going to tell President that I hope he didn't put me too close to the border because you might drive up to see me, haha! {there may be some truth to that! Haha, just kidding!!}  Thanks so much for you emails! I love them! Alright question time.

1. How & when do you find out if you will be transferred or if you will stay?
Today! By email :)
2. How did you feel this week when you heard what you're doing?
I'm guessing you mean being transferred. I absolutely love the Panorama Ward. But I am excited and nervous to move on to my new area!
3. If you are being transferred, do you know who your new companion is? And your new area / ward / part of Canada?
I will find out where exactly I am going and who my new companion is tomorrow (Wed) around noon.
4. If you are packing things up - have you checked the bathroom? Kitchen? Closet? Under the bed? Get your alarm clock? Warm jacket? Dirty clothes? Sheets? Etc!!! :) (once a mother always a mother)
Haha, I haven't finished packing, but I will check everywhere! Thanks :)
5. What was the best thing that happened this week??
Ha, we had a mission conference and an area 70 came. We are all getting ipads before April and all we have to pay is 100$ and we get to keep them after our missions! Awesome, right?? Its going to be a huge tool in missionary work now, which is sweet!!

Well, I love you mom! Have a great week! Hope everything goes well with the family. And yes! Prayer works! Its pretty amazing. Oh, I also got a call last night from President. I am going to be District Leader in my new area. Ah! So, we'll see if I survive that, haha! Have a great week mom! I love you!

Love,
Elder Call

From loving all of the amazing people he has met in Calgary......

To doing missionary work in the snow.....(mormon.org stamped out in the snow!)

Elder Call is loving his mission! It's hard and challenging - but he is loving it! His letter to friends & family:

Dear world,

Well, this is it. I'm heading out of Panorama Ward and going to the great unknown (Southern Alberta). Ha, I'm pretty much going insane right now! So many changes! I really hope they have Taco Bell in my new area! :)

I got a call from President Nicholas last night and I am going to be a District Leader. So hopefully there won't be any elevators that I can get my district stuck in, haha! {do you remember when he got his district stuck in the elevator when he had them all jump at the same time at the MTC???}

So, if you see any missionaries around with ipads, they probably aren't disobedient missionaries who went and bought them and are playing angry birds. Turns out, we are all getting them! An Area 70 came this week and told us that all of North America will be getting ipads before April. So awesome!! It will help us so much as missionaries!! {think mormon.org!!}

Well, Canada doesn't know what fall is. I think I only saw about 4 or 5 leaves fall before I saw 4 or 5 inches of snow fall. Yup, welcome to Canada! Its been as cold as -20 degrees celcius with the wind chill, which is less than 0 degrees fahrenheit. But, suprisingly, I am still alive!

Elder Smith and I were trying really hard this week to figure out the concerns of the less actives and investigators that we are teaching. And the Lord blessed us. We had the prompting to have a testimony meeting with one of the less actives and he told us that he does want to come back to church, and go to the Temple too! So that was an answer to our prayers.

Well, I can say that it has been so great serving a mission. I feel like I am heading out on my mission again. {because it's time to transfer to a new area} Its weird. But I have been so blessed to serve here. To see people grow and progress in the gospel and to see the joy that it brings to the lives of others and to my life. This gospel is definitely a gospel of happiness. The Lord blesses us as we do His work! He hears and answers our prayers and He blesses us for the sacrifices that we make.

The Church is true!

Love,
Elder Call
