Today we heard from our missionary!! Yay!
Dear Mom,
Thanks for the update! Sounds like Erin is doing well at swimming like usual, and I'm happy to hear the rest of the gang is doing good! Ha, that picture of dad sleeping on the rocks is priceless! I love the other ones as well! I will definitely keep Zac in my prayers. He reminds me of myself sometimes. He's such a good kid. He has the desire to do what is right. I'm proud of him! I hope everything this week goes well. Sorry I didn't email yesterday, it was so busy! Next week I won't be emailing til Tuesday, because that will be our pday because of transfers. But, to answer your questions...
How are you and Elder Smith doing? How has the work been this week?
Doing good, working hard, and staying warm!
What has been the best meal that you ate this week?
Frosted Flakes... haha! Just kidding... probably this Greek pita things
What was the best thing about this week?
I'm not frozen!! :) And a chinook came and melted all the snow. Yay!When is the next transfer day? Do you think you will be transferred? Or stay??
I will most likely be transferred. Next transfer is the 20th, so we'll see!
Do you need anything at all????
Nope, doing good!! :)
All I want for Christmas is cards from my family! Thats it :) Thanks!!
I love you mom!!
Love,
Elder Call
{I know I say this every time, but I sure do love that boy of ours!! And if you don't know what a Chinook wind is - google it!!}
And now for his family & friend letter:
A chinook came and took all the snow away today. YES! But, even more exciting than that is that we had an investigator at church! HOORAY! M came, which is way sweet, because that means her friend from Pakistan is gone and we can start teaching her again. She loves being taught about the gospel. She says that she feels so good about what we have to teach, which is amazing! Getting people to come out to church can be so hard, so that was definitely the miracle of the week!
We were able to meet with quite a few people this week, which was great! We've been working really hard with some less actives in the ward, and we have found a lot of their concerns. So we've been able to teach towards that and help them to have that desire to come to church, which is great!
There have been lots of "coincidences" this week. Like for instance, we ran into one of our investigators on the street as we were going home, and she was having a really hard time. Another day we had a testimony meeting with a family whose father is less active, and he bore his testimony and explained why he didn't come to church. The Lord is able to work through us if we follow the Spirit! No coincidences!
Oh, another cool experience! There were some Elders from another ward that had there referrals list out, and one of them was in our ward boundaries. It was from a long time ago, and they didn't know if they had been contacted or not, but they decided to give it to us anyways. So we went and a lady answered the door, and she was totally open about hearing more! She had been to the Temple open house, and she had friends who were Mormon. She said that that was why she was interested because of the influence that her Mormon friends had on her! So, we never know what will come of living the gospel and being a good influence on others! She is Roman Catholic, but she said that she could see change for herself in the future. It was great!! Another miracle of the week.
So, this week has been good! I've said it before but I'll say it again-I love the mission!! Canada is great! The Church is true! I love you guys!!
Love,
Elder Call
{I agree! Miracles do exist! And there truly are no coincidences!! We love you Elder Call!!}
