{For those who haven't known, he has had a very rough few weeks. The knowledge and insight he has gained throughout this is priceless. Read on...}
Dear Everybody,
These last few weeks have been pretty different. I can't say I've really experienced anything like it. My companion, Elder Smith, has been struggling, and this week he decided to go home. It was a sad thing to seem him go. I had the opportunity to be his trainer, and to be his companion again during this time. Somehow I was able to be patient and loving with him. Somehow I was able to find out his concerns and try to help him. Somehow I never gave up on him. Now replace all the somehows with through Heavenly Father. Because there is absolutely no way that I would have been able to do the things I did without His help. He cares for us.
I am now serving with our Zone Leaders, Elder Heath and Elder Day, for the next few weeks until transfers. It will definitely be hard getting back into the swing of things, but I think somehow I'll get through it. (Please replace somehow with through Heavenly Father again :))
The Lord works in mysterious ways. And I think in the Heavenly Thesaurus mysterious and challenging are synonyms. Interesting. Because the way Heavenly Father helps us is through our trials and through our weaknesses. The Lord works in challenging ways. He helps us overcome challenges. Helps us build our testimony through challenges. Helps us strengthen others through our challenges. So, keep going strong and looking to Heavenly Father, because He's there for you.
The Church is true!
Love,
Elder Call
p.s. Ether 12:27
27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them theiraweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak things become strong unto them.
(the letter he sent to me)
Elder Smith decided to go home. I was grateful that I was able to put in the effort that I did. I knew I did all I could. In my setting apart blessing it talked about having strength beyond my own. That was certainly fulfilled, as multiple days I was running on less than 5 hours of sleep and was still loads more patient than I normally am. Thank you for sharing that message from President Eyring. And thank you so much for sharing your testimony with me. That means a lot. Life is hard. Life is tough. Life is rough. But thanks for your inspiring words. I love you so much mom. The Savior desires to help us if we just come unto Him. Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Call
(my email reply to him)
We all want to know:
Who is your new companion(s)?
Who is your new companion(s)?
Where are you at? Same area, same apartment? Different?
We ladies (me and Lex) like details!! :)
his reply:
oh yea. So Elder Heath and Elder Day are my new companions. They are Zone Leaders. I am still covering my area but we cover their area as well. So this will be exciting! They are both pretty sweet. They've been good friends throughout all of this so it should be a good next couple weeks! Oh, and they cover two YSA wards, so that should be pretty fun! :)
my reply:
Awesome!! Sounds like the next couple weeks will be great!! WE ALL LOVE YOU TONS AND TONS!!!! xoxooxoxoxox
{this is about the second time that I've had the opportunity to have a small "chat" with him via email....and as you can see it lasted about a minute long!) Sure love that missionary of ours!!
