Last week of a trio companionship, transfers are next Wednesday!

Dear Mom,
Glad to hear that the family is doing so well! Life gets crazy sometimes, so I'll continue to keep all of you in my prayers! Thanks for everything that you do, and for all that the other members of the ward, missionary moms, and everyone else does! And happy to hear that you had a fun soup-er bowl Sunday!! Haha, you guys are awesome. Sometimes its weird to think that I'm on a mission. Especially thinking about people talking about me back home. Weird. I've only been gone for like a week right? Ha, its been good! I got in contact with Elder Mickelsen today, so that was good! Hes doing great, so that was good to hear. I'll give you a good update in the Big Kahuna this week :)
I love you mom!!

Love,
Elder Call
PS Elder Heath and Elder Day have been sweet companions!

Dear Everyone,

This week was good. Man, you learn something new every day! Let's see, I learned that its easy to fall into bad habits, and hard to start good ones. I had the goal to memorize a new scripture passage every day. I was solid for the first 5 days or so. It was great! It helped so much. Scriptures are a great way to keep bad thoughts out of your mind, and to keep you focused on what's important. Then, the last few days it just went down the drain. Oh man, its so hard to start good habits! But, all in all, I've learned that typically the hard things to do are the things that you need to do.

So, I'm working a lot right now in the YSA (Young Single Adult / College) ward. We haven't done too much in Coaldale, but the Lord blesses us when we work hard. My Ward Mission Leader told me that a less active was moving. During the move the less actives friend was there and commented that us Mormons are so nice and helpful. Then she asked if she could learn more about our religion!! Woooohoooo!! So, me and my Ward Mission Leader were pretty pumped as we talked on the phone. I'm pretty sure my companions thought I was crazy, because I was way excited. So hopefully we can start teaching her ASAP!!

So, back to the YSA ward. So, right now we are working with an 18 year old who wants to go on a mission. He has some pretty intense addictions which are getting in the way of accomplishing his goals. We were able to visit with him this week. It was such a spiritual conversation. The Atonement really can change each of us. It applies to each of us and our personal concerns and challenges. I've said it before but I think out of all the pain the Savior went through I think what hurts him most is when we don't use the Atonement. What a great tool we have to use in our everyday lives. {I loved this part, so I made it bold!}

So, this week was sweet! Still learning, still growing, still gaining weight (unfortunately, haha), and still having fun! The mission is great and the Church is true!

Love,
Elder Call
