Loving his mission!!

Ok cool experience. So our District went down to Stirling to sing at an old folks home. After we were done I felt like I should go and talk to one of the guys there. This guy was awesome! Had quite a bit of trials and challenges but was all about being happy and learning something through it. Well we chatted about life for awhile and before I had to go I asked if we could send the missionaries over. And he said that he was open to hearing more! It was awesome! He's not in my area, but the Stirling sisters were pretty excited when they heard about it. Its great how the Spirit works.

Marla cancelled our appointment this week. She did come to church but is just going through a really tough time. She says that she feels so great when we meet with her and talk about the gospel but just feels overwhelmed and angry when she goes back into the world. She is getting pulled in all directions. We are hoping and praying that things work out and that she will be able to be baptized. She needs the Holy Ghost in her life so badly.

Kalan is doing well! Super excited to be baptized on Saturday. I am pretty excited as well. We finished teaching him most of the commandments and he seems to be understanding everything pretty well. So I am happy for this upcoming week. Should be a great one!!

Man, I wish I could tell you guys everything about the mission field. Its hard to explain. But for now I'll just say that it is fantastic and I am happy! Learning lots and understanding things a bit more every day, so that is good. Its amazing just how much the Lord loves his children.

The Church is so very true!

Love,
Elder Call

{this is Amy here....I received a phone call last Monday night from a sweet lady named Stephanie Smylski in Canada. She had just had Elder Call and Elder Pauli over for dinner with her family. She couldn't stop saying how amazing those missionaries are!! Loved talking with her! It was a miracle that they were in her home that night. Elder Pauli had just learned that his aunt had passed away that day. His aunt was like his mother. He has had 4 family members pass away while he has been serving his mission. Well, this sweet sister had just been to the funeral of 4 of her family members (a family in Idaho - mom, dad, and 2 kids (with two more out serving missions) had passed away in their home from carbon monoxide poisoning just 10 days previous). Sister Smylski was able to be an instrument in the Lord's hands by helping Elder Pauli at his time of grief. It was amazing to hear about. Here is Spencer's reply to part of my letter:}
That is so awesome that you got to talk with Sister Smylski! She is a great member. It was quite the experience being their on Monday. I am no believer of coincidences, and that was definitely no coincidence. The Spirit was there and was able to help comfort Elder Pauli. At one point this week he was pretty set on going home. I think that he is going to stay. I was able to give him a Priesthood blessing with the Zone Leaders so that was good. It was a pretty neat experience. I don't always realize why I am in these situations, but I know the Lord has reasons for them. Maybe one day I will know.
