Another lovely week in Canada in June!

Zone Leaders together

This week was pretty cool! We had a bunch of meetings and stuff, so I'm just gonna skip over that part of the week and get to the fun stuff!

So we taught Jonathan twice this week. He's got some pretty hefty word of wisdom problems and he's illiterate. So we've got some things to work on with him before he gets baptized. But we have had some good discussions with him and we should be seeing him this week!

I also met Richard and Mable. They are an older couple investigating the church. They feel they are too old to change. So we are trying to work with that, and we invited them to pray about being baptized on June 28. So hopefully our follow up visit will be good this week! We'll be seeing them on Saturday.

There was also a non-member in our YSA branch this week!! His name is Dillon. Good kid. Likes to play basketball (YES!). He said that he would think about having us over to teach him. He also wants to come out to the YSA Family Home Evening activity, which is sweet! So we should be seeing him later today.

Pray for these friends of mine! They are great. And they need what we have!

As for me, I am doing great and having fun and loving all of it! I believe that what I am doing is right and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless anyone in any situation. Its true. Christ is real. He loves us and wants to help us. And His Church is on the earth today!!

{my letter from Spenc this week}
I'm sorry to hear that Ken passed away. He was a great guy! I loved going over there and doing yard work and visiting with them. Tell Sally that she is in my prayers.

I am happy to hear that you had a blast this week with camping! That is so fun! It definitely sounds like a sweet spot to go to! I loved the pictures that you sent of it. I am totally up for it next year! I miss camping a ton!! It is so fun! Plus, that will give me an excuse not to shave... haha! We will for sure go! Count me in!! And that is so neat that Roxanne was able to go through the Temple. I am happy that you had such a spiritual experience with her and that you could feel Papa's presence there. Thanks for sharing that with me. So happy to see all the family coming together. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the time with the family and that you had a good pre-birthday celebration!!

Thanks for sharing your testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and of Temple work. I believe that it is true as well. The Temple has an amazing spirit about it. It sets it apart from the world. I love being inside of it. It is great that we have always lived so close to the Temple. Continue to go! Temple work is missionary work! I love you mom!!

Have you had to speak in church recently?
Elder Madsen and I actually both spoke yesterday in the YSA branch!

Is there anything we can do for you? Family fast? Specific prayers?
Just keep praying! I sure do appreciate that. It is good to know that I have so many people praying for me. That helps out a ton.

Can I send you anything?? Um... I am not really in need of anything. But you are always free to send cards and homemade stuff! I love those kinds of things!

Did you get your stuff from Coaldale that you left behind? Transfers are next week!! That flew by!!
Not yet. I'll make a few calls this week and figure that out. And you are right. The time is flying by so fast!!

Favorite scripture of the week? (I loved Alma chapters 16 and 17 - I was having a tough day and prayed for some comfort and strength. Read those two chapters next time you need comfort! I underlined the things that stuck out to me - counsel with the Lord, pray and fast, be patient in your afflictions so you can be an example to others, have comfort and have joy. It was two great chapters to read!!)
Helaman 3:35 stuck out this morning from my studies. Firmer and Firmer, Stronger and Stronger stuck out to me, because God doesn't require immediate perfection out of us, but He asks that we improve and helps us to do so. I thought that was neat.

I love you so much mom! I hope that you have a great week and that you remember that I love you!!

Love,
Elder Call

35 Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.
