Companion: Elder Madsen
Dear Mom,
Sounds like everyone had a pretty sweet week! Tell the ward, my good leaders, and lifeguard friends hi for me! Glad to hear that the family is doing well and keeping busy. Hopefully you stay busy on your trip, so that you don't have twelve hours of extra time on your hands, haha! {I told him we were going camping up north and that we would only be a 12 hour drive away from him, haha} Oh, I saw Carlee Sargent this week at the Temple! That was pretty neat. We talked about how weird it was that I'm on a mission and she is getting married, when it seems like just yesterday that we were in sunday school. Weird!!
But anywho, his week was pretty sweet! I have some stories to tell :) But for now I'll just answer your questions...
What service opportunities did you have this week?
We helped clean up the indian reserve cemetery. They have a hard time getting help because a lot of the natives are scared of the spirits on the cemetery... yup.
How are you feeling? How is Elder Madsen doing?
Doing great! And my comp is doing well too!
Is there anything you are in need of?
A meal that doesn't consist of meat and potatoes. :) haha
Have you had some hard times this week?
Haha, there are hard times every week mom! But I'm happy and having fun, and working through the hard!
Have you been to the Cardston temple??
Not yet! But we're planning on going sometime this transfer! I definitely don't like that we can only go every 4 months. Take advantage of the opportunity that you have and go every week!!
Hope you continue to have a fun summer! I love you and want to say thanks for being such a great mom! Thanks for watching out for me, praying for me, and for having my back! I love you so much!

Hello hello from Canada!
This week has been nuts! Its crazy. I love it here!
So I'm going to start off with an experience that we had this week.
Elder Madsen and I were leaving the family history center when I saw this guy sitting on a chair taking a smoke in his lawn. I had the feeling to talk with him, but I was having a pretty bad day, so I was like nah, maybe another time. But Heavenly Father didn't give up on me, and I decided to just say hi. So, I belted out, "Hey, how's it going??" And this guy responds, "I'm doing good, come over and talk with me!" Well, that almost never happens, unless its a member, so we took our opportunity! We started talking with him and I felt we should give him a Book of Mormon, so I ran out to the car, only to find that we didn't put any back after cleaning it out. So I run into the family history center, to no avail. Well, we end up calling the Sister Missionaries, Sister Martin and Sister Estrada, and they saved the day and brought us one! Anywho, we keep talking with this guy, and start talking about baptism. Then he asks, "Hey, how can I do that?" My mind was going woah, holy cow! This is crazy! Holy guacamole! Oh man I am so excited!! But my mouth said, "Well, we can definitely teach you more about it! Do you want to be baptized?" And he said yes!! He is planning on being baptized in June. We are going to teach him and his wife tomorrow! His name in Jonathan. Keep him in your prayers!
So that was sweet. Our Zone is super pumped about missionary work. It is great. We've got a great set of missionaries here! We already have five people in our zone that are planning on being baptized in June, with a few more on the way! I'm so excited!!
But yeah, this week was sweet! Oh, and last pday Elder Hill and I saved a baby goose. I'll have to send you pictures sometime :)
This week was our Stake Conference. We had a broadcast from Elder Holland, President Eyring, and a few others to all of Canada. It was pretty sweet! But the main focus was hastening the work! It was great. We can all do something, whether or not we are members of the church, to prepare the world for the Second Coming. There are people we can all reach out to and share the love of Jesus Christ with. And don't forget to invite people to visit with the missionaries! Because the missionaries love to visit with people. I can testify to that!! So, if you are reading this email, I would invite you to have the missionaries over! It will be a good experience for you!
The Church is true!!
Love,
Elder Call
