It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood

Dear World,

This week was pretty great! We've been meeting with a few different people, and it has been exciting to see them progress! I'll tell you about a few of them.

There is this YSA girl named Kaitlyn that we are working with. She is solid. She has been making scripture reading a bigger part of her life. She says that her week goes smoother and her days are better when she reads. How cool is that? She has been skeptical about going full-force into the church, but she said that one thing that stuck out from her scripture reading is faith and continuing on. We asked her why she thought that was the message she was getting. I think she was surprised as she realized that that was her answer. That she needed to act in faith and continue on. She said that she is taking 20 minutes out of her morning to read the scriptures. She's been coming to church quite regularly as well, which is awesome!

There is another YSA guy named Kash. When we first met him he said that his faith was shaken but he did desire to have that grow. It reminds me of President Eyring's words, "acting on a twig of faith allows God to grow it." And that is what Kash did! He has said that as he has been reading and praying more regularly that his faith has grown. He is able to recognize that, and the amazing is is so are we. His countenance has changed. He is happier! He is considering a mission. He wants to have a Temple marriage. His goals are changing and his actions are pointing him to them. That has been pretty neat to see.

So, I think I told you about the native on the street named Elvis, whose wife said she wants to be a Mormon. Well we set up a time to visit, but we ended up just meeting his daughter, who said that she wants to be a Mormon. We talked with her about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can change her life and relieve her of guilt. She has had a rough past. But she accepted to be baptized. So we are working on helping her overcome some addictions and challenges in her life, but I feel like she can do it! It was pretty neat to see how Heavenly Father is placing people in our path.

There is another young fellow we are going to start teaching as well. His dad is a returning less-active and he wants to be baptized. So that should be exciting!!

The work is hastening! What a great opportunity that I have to be part of it. And all of us can be too! How sweet is that?

The Church is true! Christ loves us more than we can comprehend! And as we rely on Him we can be happy!

Love,
Elder Call
