Welcome to Canada...

Dear World,

Its September 9, 2014. I'm here in Cardston, Alberta. And it is currently snowing. I think Jack Frost lives in Cardston.

But I am alive and well and making it through what looks like could be the last season of my mission. Winter.

So, this week was crazy! It was Elder Madsen's last week as a missionary. He flies home on Thursday. Its weird!! He's been a great companion. We've had a lot of fun and have got a lot of work done too.

I've learned how important it is to have fun as a missionary. Its not missionary work, its missionary fun! I think an Apostle said that. Elder Madsen says that if you aren't having fun you aren't doing it right. I've learned to have lots of fun. Its been fun to just do random spontaneous things for the work! Like singing to people on the streets and running down people. Its been fun to act on those promptings of the Spirit that tell you to do something uncomfortable or crazy! The other week I was on exchanges with Elder Konietz in Pincher Creek. We had had a pretty successful day with talking with people. We had to go back to the pad after dinner, and it would have been so easy to call it a night. We didn't have anything planned. But we both felt the need to finish out the day. It was about 7:45 when we left, and we just went to the streets to try to talk with people. We were denied by an atheist. A native lady wasn't very interested. Another lady wasn't even interested to say hello. So, it didn't look so great. Then, a guy and a girl walk across the street, and we talk with them. We had a SWEET conversation with them. We were able to joke around with them, but at the same time the Spirit was so strong. I felt like I was talking with Brother and Sister Fisher. It was awesome!! One second we are joking, the next second we are just diving into the gospel and feeling the Spirit. It was great! They ended up taking a Book of Mormon, and we set up a return appointment with them. It was so cool to see the miracles that came from just finishing out the day. By acting on that prompting a few more people came closer to Christ!

Its amazing to see how miracles come to all those who act in faith. They don't always come right at once, just as Elder Konietz and I learned from talking with the first few people, but they come as we stretch ourselves and push ourselves further than we have ever gone. That is when God can bless us with the miracles. So, if right now is hard for you, keep acting in faith and know that God is waiting to bless you more than you have ever been blessed before. Has the day of miracles ceased? I say unto you Nay!!

I know that God answers our prayers. This month our mission is focusing on revelation through prayer. I have tried to apply that to my life. I have been asking God questions. Simple questions. I have specifically been trying to find answers to testimony questions. I have learned that God does answer our prayers. I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's Church. And I know this by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Love,
Elder Call
