Maybe he needs a GPS? :)

Monday September 16, 2013
Dear world,
What a crazy week! Pretty much, all I've got to say is the Lord blesses us! Let me expound...

So, Elder Smith and I have been working pretty hard. We were out and about all week long trying to make visits, talk to people on the street, contact investigators, you name it! But, not much really happened. We only got in for a couple of lessons this week. And the whole time I was just thinking what in the world are we doing wrong?? But I learned that the Lord blesses us for working hard. Its just not always the way that we expect.

So Sunday rolls around, and holy guacamole!! Ok, so there was like five potential investigators (Our Stake President, President Thomas, brought two of his friends, and three other potentials came along) and there was like five less actives that came!! It was so amazing!! We were able to teach the Gospel Essentials class which went SO good. I loved it!! The Spirit was there, the people in attendance, including the non-members, joined in on the discussion! It was incredible. So moral of the story, the Lord always blesses us for working hard.

Ha, so here is my crazy story for the week. So, Elder Smith and I are both pretty new to the area right? So one day we decided to take the bus to one of our appointments. It sounds like a great idea right? So we find the bus we need to take and ride to our appointment. Everything goes great. On the way home we go to the bus stop and ask this lady which bus we should take to get back to Panorama. She tells us to hop on the next bus. So we do. Instead of heading back to Panorama this bus takes us about 10, maybe 15 kilometers out of our area. I was freaking out!! AHHH! I mean, I have this new Elder and I have no idea what to do. So we are a mile or two from downtown and I just freak out and pull the next stop thingy. The bus pulls over and we got out. We started walking and eventually I just called the district leader and they had to pick us up! It was so crazy! So that was my adventure for the week. Almost as good as the elevator story, haha! {do you remember the elevator story from the MTC??}

Well, this week should be good. The work is moving forward and we are seeing the Lord's blessings. He is certainly in the midst of this work helping us along. I love missionary work!!

The Church is true!

Love,
Elder Call

And here is parts of the letter he sent to me {mom}:

Dear Mom,
Franny is having us over for breakfast and I asked if we could have cinnamon rolls and he said yes! So we are keeping the tradition rolling, haha! Get it? Rolling, cinnamon rolls? Haha I'm a goofball. {Spenc's birthday is on Saturday, hence cinnamon rolls....}

What is the hardest thing that has happened this week?

Saturday. We had tons of things set up and it had the potential to be a fantastic, teaching appointment filled day. But nothing really worked out. In the end, we ended up teaching one investigator, and we found one potential investigator. And I would consider both of those to be miracles, so it ended up being ok :)

What is the absolute best thing about Elder Smith? Where in Arizona is he from?

He is humble. When he doesn't know something he asks. He has great suggestions and wants to learn. He is from Queen Creek, Arizona. Its by Phoenix I believe!

Is it getting colder in Canada????

Not yet! Long summer! Thank goodness, haha!!

Thank you so much for your letters and emails. I love them so much and I look forward to reading them. I love and miss you and the rest of the family. My love for each of you has truly grown in the past 4-ish months!! Thanks for all that you do. I love you so much mom! Thanks for the great friend that you have been to me. I love you!!
Love,
Elder Call
{WE LOVE YOU TOO, ELDER CALL!!! SO SO SO MUCH!!!!}

Added note:
Tender mercies: Sweet Sister M and her family will be feeding Spencer and his companion for his birthday dinner this Saturday night! Soooooooooo sweet!! And Franny and his family are having Spencer/Elder Call and his companion over for birthday breakfast!! This kid is getting spoiled! AND....the birthday box I sent last month arrived in about 9 days! So he will have all of the many homemade cards from friends and family and some gifts that we sent! It will be SO weird to not be with him on his birthday, but there are many others who will fill in for us and for that I am eternally grateful. THANK YOU my dear, sweet CANADIAN friends for taking care of my boy!!!
