Companion Elder Pauli
Area Coaldale Canada
Dear World,
Happy Thursday! Ha,
Monday the library was booked, and
Tuesday and
Wednesday we were on exchanges... thus, Happy Thursday!
This week we had some pretty good experiences! Journal moments!! Here are a few...
So we have been working with a part member family, the Van Dyks. The husband is a non-member and not too interested, but the wife, the member, is open to having us. Well the husband is not home a lot of the time, so we mostly just visit with Sister Van Dyk on her doorstep. The other day we had a blank spot in the day after a couple things fell through, and I felt to stop by their house. But I thought, `Well, we`ll probably just visit on her doorstep` but I decided to swing by anyways. Well, we got there, and yes, it was just her, and yes, we just visited on the doorstep. But after awhile of visiting Sister Van Dyk choked up a bit and talked about how much it meant that we stopped by and visited with her. She said that it had such an impact that she had gone through her box of old things, and finally had the courage to pull out her Book of Mormon. She said it now sits on her dresser, so she sees it every day, and has been reading it too! I was so happy to hear that! It amazes me that even though what we had done was very small, it lead to that. I was so happy!! So that was good to hear.
Another experience. So we were invited to go to the Priesthood Preview, just a meeting to introduce all the young men to the Priesthood. We arrived at the church and there were four emergency service vehicles parked there. We went inside and no one really knew what was going on. But a few minutes later we saw Sister Lefler being lifted out on astretcher, and they were performing CPR. The Bishop came to the group and explained the situation and we all said a prayer. We later learned that she had had a heart attack. Her heart had stopped twice, but they were able to bring her back both times. Elder Pauli and I made her two big cards, and brought them around for ward members to sign. We sent it up with Sister Leflers parents, the Toths, who are in our ward and she loved them! The Toth`s said that she read them over and over again. They also told us that Sister Lefler is doing really well, which was so good to hear! There were so many miracles that happened, and I`m glad our small act made a difference.
By small and simple things! You never know how great of an impact you will have on someone. Find something you can do every day to help someone else and you will be happy. I certainly am!
The Church is true! Have a good conference weekend! Missionary Christmas!! BooYah!
Love,
Elder Call
