The eye of the storm

Dear World and the inhabitants therein,

Story time! So I shared this story with my mom, and I thought I would share it with all of you. We met with a returning less active this week who is going through some hard times with getting out of sin and his past. He talked about the eye of the storm. When we are fighting with all our might mind and strength to get through a storm it is hard. You are right in the middle of all the intense wind and rail and hail. Its hard! But then he talked about how if we relax, if we back down, Satan pulls us right into the eye of the storm. We have a false sense of relaxation. That everything is okay. When really we are just in the middle of the storm. Heavenly Father can't reach us, because we've hardened our hearts, and Satan stops bugging us because he has fooled us. We become relaxed. He talked about how moments in his life when he has been in the eye of the storm that nothing goes right. Its not an easy place to be, because you have the burden of sin. He talked about how if you try to get out of the storm it is hard. It takes all the effort that you can give. But its worth it because its easier. Christ himself says, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." The burden of being a disciple of Christ is so much better than the burden of sin. That's why God asks us to fight through the eye of the storm. To not become comfortable with sin. To work with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength. To leave everything we have on the table. So, don't get comfortable! Fight through the storm!!

Also, this week we were able to go through the Temple for our Zone Conference and receive some training from the Temple President. So neat! Just reminded me how great the Temple really is and that everyone needs it! Everyone! Absolutely everyone needs the blessings that come from the Temple. It was such a great experience to be able to go through the temple again. It reminded me of how much God loves us and wants to help us return to live with Him again.

So, another story. Ran into Mike this week on the street. It truly was a blessing because we were able to find a lot of his concerns. Heavenly Father definitely placed him in our path. He was smoking, and ended up talking about how he and his wife aren't married. So now we have a better idea of what we need to help him with and teach him. We had a good lesson with him the day before, and he is really wanting his family to join in and listen. Its awesome! He's really excited about learning.

Our zone is doing great with walking and talking with everyone! It was harder this week because it was raining all week. I prayed that the sun would come out all week long! Well, its finally here and its supposed to stay the whole week. Hallelujah!

The Gospel is so true! Everyone needs it! Talk with the missionaries! Find them and talk with them! They love it!

Love,
Elder Call

And here's a funny photo I found on Sister Martins blog: All of the girls from their area - with some photo-bombing Elders in the background. See Elder Call to the back left??!!
