Hey everyone! This week was the best week of my life! Which leads us to story time.

So, we met with Brandon on Saturday at the Karl's home. We arrived five minutes late as usual, with the plan to teach him on faith and a few commandments. We kick off the lesson, and it quickly led into baptism. One of the Karl's boys, who is an RM, talked about setting a goal and stretching for it. So we decided to have Brandon pray about it. We told Brandon that it was good to ask for a specific day, because when we pray for a specific question we get a specific answer.

So Brandon decides to pray for a few dates. He asks Heavenly Father if he should be baptized tomorrow, in three months, in eight months, or in a year. I could tell that the Spirit was working with him. He ends his prayer, and he says it would take an incredible amount of faith to be baptized tomorrow, but that it makes him uncomfortable because his Dad has said he doesn't want him to be baptized that quickly. He then said a year is to far away. He decided sometime between tomorrow and 4 months. We felt he needed to decide right then, so we asked him to pray again for the day which Heavenly Father wanted him to be baptized.

So, he kneels and prays and asks Heavenly Father if he should be baptized in June. The Spirit is just taking over at this point, and we ask him, "Brandon, the Spirit told you a different day didn't he?" Brandon just gets this big grin across his face, and we ask him what day, and Brandon says tomorrow. He talked about just how hard it would be, because his Dad was totally opposed to it, but that he would do it. It was absolutely amazing to see the step of faith he took. We promised that he could do it and that the Savior would be by Him to help him in his decision.

The Spirit was sooooo strong!! I can't even express through words how amazing it was. We still needed to teach Brandon all of the commandments, laws, and ordinances (lessons 4 and 5 in PMG - Preach My Gospel). So, we run out to the car, grab all the pamphlets, and for the next two and a half hours we teach him everything he needs to know before he is baptized! He has no concerns with it and was more than happy to live it! He came to another baptism at the church that day with us, and had dinner with us that day, and even though he said his dad was disappointed in him, he was still so happy to be baptized.

Another miracle, we got everything that we needed to done for his baptism all in 12 hours, because the only time we could do his baptism was at 8 AM on Sunday. The Spirit was so incredibly strong as Ryan Karl, Brandon's best friend, was able to baptize him. Absolutely amazing. Brandon's mom even came to the baptism and you could see the Spirit working in her. What an incredible experience.

Brandon's confirmation and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost was an incredible experience as well, as we were able to be in the circle. After Sacrament Brandon received the Aaronic Priesthood, and was ordained to the office of Priest. He also received his Temple Recommend, and will be going to the Temple with us and the ward on Tuesday to do Baptisms for the Dead. Temple Tuesday! Decided we'd keep tradition.

Brandon sent us a text last night about how is Dad respected his decision, which was an incredible miracle, and something we promised to Brandon as he said he would be baptized. Brandon is well on his way to being a missionary, as it was promised to him in both his blessingson Sunday. What an amazing example of following the Savior, no matter the cost! What an incredible miracle to take part of. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father gave me this experience. I will forever be grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which can purify us, change us, and bring us more peace than we could ever know.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so true.

Love,
Elder Call
